Making trade fair, making people care, hearing people prayers. wooooo ones 1 fair trade circle . Joining to the fair trade circle at APU University was one of the best choices I could have ever made while staying in Japan. It was a time I learnt so much about how trade is not fair around the world and that children are being exploited doing hard labour and not being paid hardly anything.
Anyway about the circle… it was also a great way of making some lifelong friends and a good way of getting to know the Japanese public as we held events. It allowed me to get a feel of how it is to interact with the Japanese society as a whole and not just as a foreign student. The only two international students were me and my friend Nana Chan.

We did so many great activates such as selling fair trade products at the earth day :
I remember this day very well, It was a memorable time for me as I had great day interacting with Japanese people trying to sell in Japanese. Yep I was selling in Japanese and it worked! This circle and all its members are from my experience very hard working and passionate.
I still remember on my last meeting the surprise they held for me and Nana chan and the good bye card. To be honest it was quiet emotional to say good bye to all the members, but I am sure I will see them again some time in the future. I think the members were glad to finally have some international students join them and help out, but they didn’t realise that I was more glad to join then they were to have me join .
What a time I had with ones one fair trade circle, what an amazing experience and what an eye opener. I would like to take this opportunity to thanks all the fair trade members for this time. ありがとう! All I can say is keep up the good work and eventually you will make a difference! I’m sure APU will be the first fair trade university in ASIA very soon. If you are going to APU soon I would recommend joining this circle, its for a good cause and its also so much fun!
